I wish I had found the other post about Diamond Doorway Dolly. My experience was similar. There feedback looked good, and I even called the guys at Film Star to get their opinion. They said the dollies were okay, and held up.
My dolly was over a month late (on top of their 11-16 business days before shipping) I started calling and they had plenty of excuses.
when I finally received it, the UPS store was pissed. The seller lied about the weight of the package. The dolly was shipped in 1 box, wheels attached, and it was 96lbs. (not 67 they claimed)
The welding is shi*. There is no solid bead, there are spots, nics, bubbles, and the tubing fits together very poorly. This is a little worse than I could do having welded about 6 hours in my life.
The steering has no stops to keep the wheels from turning into the platform. Three of the steel wheels were bent. One was so bad it wobbled about 1" with each rotation. After several weeks I finally got hold of Omari, who suggested I needed to inflate the tires. He also suggested that the wheels bend, and they could be bent back. (He seemed to imply I should do that)
I knew I was buying a low end dolly, but this was ridiculous. There was also no seat in the box. Now so much time has passed I can't leave feedback or open a paypal dispute.
I took a video of the 4 wheels spinning (oh and they grind on the axle bolt and don't spin freely), and I haven't heard back since. I'm tempted to produce a commercial about their dolly for youtube.
I would not do business with them. I'm stuck with 3 bent up wheels, and no seat. I'll update this post if they fix things, but I'm not holding my breath.
In order to remedy the situation:
I know I can get a height adjustable stool from the auto parts store, and I've seen a thread with a link to several seats, Can anyone point me to that?
Also, is there a place to get reasonably priced aluminum wheels I could put on this?
