Another unnessesary Zacuto HVX add-on

The Zacuto Z-stop... the semi-flexible piece of metal to hold HVX200 focus rings in place when on an adapter.

$95 for what a careful AC and piece of camera tape can do.

What another overpriced and relatively useless item from Zacuto. It's just a bent piece of metal with a rubber grip. I'm sure I could make that from the spare contents and garbage from underneath my auto's passenger seat, had i actually needed to invest time or money into a real problem.

Strange product for the otherwise not so complicated dilemma. Keep on keepin' on, Zacuto.

I use tape and it works fine. Nothing left residue, no slippage. And it has been the same piece of tape for months.

First off Ryan, it's nothing of what you say. It's carbon fiber and what keeps the tension on the lens is the backlash of the bent carbon fiber. This is actually an awesome product and so many guys begged me to make it. Taping a lens can get bumped and it's not very exact. The Z-Stop is fool proof and can be adusted in a second. Why don't you send me your address and I'll send you one and you can evaluate it. Then you can make a comment on it based on use.

In that case, I think the RED camera is overpriced and relatively useless when I can just use my DVX to shoot.
