Another TV spot shot on HPX300

I recently finished this low-budget local TV spot: http://www.vimeo.com/8174880

It was shot at 1080/23.98pN, AVC-Intra 100. Edited in FCP using ProRes 422 HQ with all color correction (desaturated color for beginning shots) handled inside FCP. Used stock lens with matte box and rotating polarizing filter to compensate for all the glass.

Wish I'd had the budget to ND the windows in the conference room sequence - the view was spectacular (which you can kind of see). The entire spot was shot with a 2-person crew (which included me as director, DP and producer).

Well done... yes I agree with the boardroom shot... kinda looks like you tried to milk it a bit too much in FCP Colour Correct...

Did you try and play with that shot in Color... I reckon it would probably come good with some secondary colour correction... although I still can't get my head around Color..

Cheers

Thanks for the kind words, guys.

Yes, I did milk it for all it was worth! I did think of using Color but - like you - I just haven't had time enough to really learn it. Combine that with the spot needing to be turned around in less than a day leaving me no time to experiment. Oh well, I'll never be completely satisfied anyway. Most importantly, my client was thrilled with the results. ;)

Really nice! impressive considering your restraints!
One thing that struck me was the contrast between the tungsten in the board room and the daylight outside... as you said it would have been great to ND the windows but another option may have been to CTO the windows which would have balanced the colour temps and knocked the daylight down abit... I understand that you perhaps wanted to give the room a nice warm feeling though!...

:)cheers

Tom.

Very nice! I think you're best off having the window background a little hot like that because you want the viewer to be watching the foreground people, NOT a beautiful exterior. What jib do you have?

Well, it is better than my cheezy Pizza Commercial :Drogar-Happy(DBG):

Just wondering....what was the budget? I think you can guess what my budget was! :)

Great stuff, really clean, well lit and well cut, especially in those time restraints. As nedcam said, I didn't find the blown out exterior to be an issue as it just ensures focus is on the foreground subjects for the brief shot.
