Another TV Commercial shot with F3

+1, Timur...

That's the magic with the F3... You can get whatever your likes are off the HDSDI 10bit 422 uncompressed output. All flavors for everyone...

And with the SLog option already available, a new story begins!

just kind of wished it was graded luminance wise to focus on the subjects a little more rather than so open lit. but other wise, very clean and crisp. love it.

A little to soft and washed out for my taste.

a little?
:)

yes, agree, too soft for my taste. It looks like it could have been done with a Canon 5D (except grading capabilities). IMHO, softness flattens the image in video (more than in film), taking away part of the perception of tridimensionality of the scene. That's why, many times, 2D sharp video images (e.g. with the F3), when there is the right amount of depth of field, well, they can have a more 3D look than the current 3D images available today. In my opinion, "2D- tridimensionality" (call it 2D3D?) is a desirable thing to achieve, since our visual system sees the world in such a way that, what we are attending to at any given moment in time is always sharp and somehow pops out from the background (the 3D component). So the experience of watching a sharp video -as opposed to a soft video- (and assuming here a relatively shallow DoF) could be more close to the actual experience of seeing in general. Just my view on these things.

my taste would have been a bit sharper of a look, feels to soft to me for an ad that should be advertizing something for vision. Its not just about the way it looks to a person, it has to do the object your selling justice. I would have shot it the same way but without the softening. my own 2bits
