Hi all,

First was the firewire two weeks ago (stopped working) and now my JVC H100 stopped working all together!!!. I'm shooting a project in south america and there is no support for the camera here. Before I have to cancel the whole production and return to the US, does anybody know now to check (and find) the fuse of the camera?, The lack of firewire has delayed my production, but now is even worst!.

Anybody from JVC reading this thread?

Thanks.

BR,

Gustavo

Mr Torres:

We have endeavored to reach you since your original post. However, with no e-mail or telephone contact, the method available is private messages on DVXuser. Several have been sent.

Your situation is very concerning to us. Telephone contact may prove most effective. JVC's technical support staff are aware of your problems and prepared to help.

Please, call them right away at 800 582 5825 or 973 317 5000 x5574.

Echoing the sentiments, Bob. Now that's Customer Service. You can't do anything more than reach out...twice...to your customers. I hope he responds this time.

It's nice to know that someone from JVC is attentive to these foruns. I wonder if JVC Europe is also represented here...

Well, the first time I was contacted by JVC Brazil, the answer I got was: wait until you're back in the US and then JVC will fix the firewire, so I decided to use only tape and continue shooting.

The second time, I called JVC support today, the answer was: I have to send the camera to the USA, but they won't send it back to south america, so I have to arrange pick up in the USA... my production is halted and will be halted until the camera reach the US, JVC fix it and I manage to get it back in south america, probably several days, that's a lot of money I'm loosing, I only have 2 more weeks of shooting.

I really like this little camera, but it's a shame JVC don't even consider the send the camera back to south america (I could pay the fedex bill if necessary) or send a loaner while they fix my almost new camera.

I thank Bob for answer all my emails, that's great, a VP helping customer in forum is excellent, however I still have to see what will happen with the camera.

Thanks.

Gustavo

Brasil? WOW. I have an idea, get me a ticket and I will catch a plane to meet you with my HD101. I love Brasil!

Hopefully I loaner camera is on his way, after the intervention of JVC Brazil and with the colaboration of JVC US (Thanks Milton & Bob).
I sent my HD100 to New Jersey for repair yesterday. Now is upt to Fedex and customs.

Thanks a lot.

Echoing the sentiments of Tim. Where are you in the process? Did you get a loaner from JVC and are you shooting?
Jonathan

Hi,

JVC sent me a loaner (Thanks a lot Milton, Maria, Rick, all you JVC guys), it arrived this week but it was hold by customs.... a lot of paperworks because it's a temporary import and I don't have any cargo import license in Colombia..... maybe another 4 to 6 six days... I have to be in the US next week so we decided to go back to the states and ask fedex to return the camera to the sender, wait for my camera to be fixed and re-start the shooting next month (bringing the camera as baggage is a lot easier than as cargo). We managed to record 35-40% of the scenes in 1 1/2 weeks, but we still need maybe 2 to 3 weeks to finish, we haven't shoot anything since Tuesday last week, we lost almost two weeks, a lot of time and money.
You can see some production photos here: http://www.hdcinemacolombia.com/casting/Casting.html
If budget allows it, I'll try to get a second camera next month to finish the project, using A & B camera, we're going to get a local director to finish since I have return to the states after I deliver the camera, I probably only direct a few scenes during weekends. My sister and a local producer will continue leading the project then.

Thanks

Gustavo
