I just used it(SpellChecker) a few times, its fast., real fast

does it use the forums server and database and relay correct spelling back to my browser or my system resources to do everything(I'm guessing #1)

Jarred again I'm asking is this forum package you put up free? need to show the link at the bottom, or you paying some license fees

(just used it now, quick)

sPell chickin.....why?

Eye take a fence to urine plying eye kan't sPell neice Jared.

What you really need here is a coherent post checker.

I didn't want to make a whole new thread for my question so I just pulled this one out of the bowels of the forum. I downloaded the spell checker but it doesn't underline my misspellings in red like it does for others. What did you do to get it to do this or did you download a different program?

Thanks,

nice, nice.

Now all I need is an "Auto pilot mode with different attitude settings (tm)" button that I can click on and it will continue to post in my absence..

Oh, don't mistake this for a new feature. This feature came out in 2005 if I am not mistaken. I just didn't want to get in trouble for starting a new thread when I could simply post my question in here.

Anyone have an answer?

Anhar, you should write a white paper on that subject. Many of us might find that fascinating... :D

And when I saw this thread pop up and read Jared's post, I thought to myself... wow... we now have spell check? As long as I can remember, we've always had spell check?? Then I realized Penguin pulled this post out of his ass and went back to my business...

CP man oh man, I was about to say, Pookies back!! now all our hopes are dashed!

Tom, I think this kind of event needs its own name, any suggestion for a "word" that basically describes one who revives a very old thread..

like eg we could say

"oh man, CP's gone and done a "phoenix" "

Wow same thing happened. I thought we have always had spell check.

It always freaks me out when posts come back from the dead like this.

We could coin the term "penguin". So if someone digs up a really old thread and confuses everyone... wow, did that guy pull a penguin or what! :D

Okay, you guys are funny. Mark that off the list and help me with my damn problem! I am starting to wish I had just started a new thread after all, can you guys not read dates? God!

In all seriousness, those of you who use the spell checker: does it underline your misspellings in red? How can I get mine to do this?

And Tommy, I guess I am almost honored to have a term coined after me. I will respectfully accept my new found fame as the guy who revives really old threads and gets made fun of instead of having his question answered.

:)

I do not use a spell checker, I just use Firefox. It SEEMS that Firefox has a spellchecker BUILT IN that underlines in RED. I have never TURNED ON this feature nor SET anything, it has just always been.

Yep, same for me. When it was new I thought that DVXuser had Spellcheck now! And I wanted to post a thread to thank the Mods :D Then I realized it was the spellcheck of firefox.
