Someone just posted this at redrock-

It claims 4520 by 2540 progressive frame created by a single 35mm sized CMOS sensor, at variable frame rates between 1-60 FPS, plus 4:4:4 Uncompressed out through dual fiberoptics.

What are peoples thoughts? This is clearly a company in the very begining of startup.

Think this "vaporware" camera has been linked and discussed already (either here or at dvinfo.net). Certainly exciting if it makes it to production and doesn't cost a fortune.

Have no doubt then within a year or two there will be some HD cameras that will squash the HVX in price and quality. If you want/can wait then you will always find better technology to invest your money into down the road.

The question with that camera is how far down the road are we talking here? Secondly, people wince at buying a brand new camera model from an establish company like Panasonic, not sure how much you want to gamble yourself professionally on a camera with no legacy ties.

I would guess this years NAB is going to have some very exciting product introductions for this new era of HD productions. For those who have no reason to go HD yet, the longer your wait the better/cheaper your entrance into HD will be. For those ready to make a slow transition, the HVX is a smart transitional camera for right now.

Cheers

Let's think about this:
4520 by 2540 progressive 60 FPS, 4:4:4 Uncompressed.

Anyone happen to calculate what the capture storage space equal?
I can only imagine :)

i dont know if there will be cameras that beat the hvx in the price range within a year or so. the dvx wasnt beat in its price range by any camera makers in terms of 24p quality/ film look
