Another Line Detail Question

I understand the difference between thin and thick, and I messed with a few of my settings in S5 and all of a sudden my footage looks grainy and less saturated and the only thing which seems to effect this problem is changing the line detail back to thick... Does that make sense, should those two issues be a consequence of "Thin" Line detail?
Thanks for your input.

nope

I mean someone might come tell I'm wrong and give you actual help, but no, thin or think should not change the noise or saturation.

hmm, do you guys know what the default setting for s5 is for gamma, maybe i changed it and didn't realize it...

The default setting in s5 is cinelike V. Your can restore the factory settings by using SAVE/INIT and choose INIT.

So I checked and it is still Cinelike V and my gain has not been on and line detail seems not to effect it. Could it be the skin detail setting (mine is off) because th difference in the footage is remarkable, the first tape was crisp and rich colors, great detail in darks, and now the darks sem to have a lot of noise and even the lighter areas have a bit, I haven't changed anything else that I know of... thoughts?

Skin tone detail being off will not add noise or anything bad into your picture. What are you detail settings? Have you tried bumping up the detail coring a bit? Also, double check your shutter speed that its not fast like 1/250 or 1/500. Another thing is to double check and make sure your ND filters are turned off.

Detail Level is -4 (I think this is original setting), V Detail is 0, Detail Coring 0, and Chroma Level -3. ND is not on and shutter is always default (which i think is 30 for S5 in 24 p) so is it any of the above do you think?

you said that you messed with some of your settings and then things got "bad" so I'd suggest re-setting your scene file and see what happens.
