Another late halloween spoof film...spoof of the movie the strangers

Hi everyone. I am learning cinematography and posted on the lighting forum a few times. I was hoping for some constructive feedback. I shot this with a homemade 35mm adapter. I used some mole richardson baby solarspots to light the project. Having my previous stuff come out way to bright and even feeling I was going for heavy contrast. I probably should have used a fill light but I was wondering if people could give me some overall feedback and any cinematography feedback especially welcomed.

This is a spoof of the movie the strangers. It's four minutes long. Please enjoy.

P.S. - Post Production feedback is also welcomed!

Great job, especially with lighting. Very well put together. Because of the fact that it was a joke and because of the name, I kind of saw the ending coming.

The acting wasn't anything phenomenal. The few lines were delivered a bit strangely, and the lines themselves could have been written a bit better.

For example, rather than thinking how am I going to get people to to know that the knife dissapeared? and deciding to throw in a line where he says "where's my knife?" it should have been shown through the actor. I mean would you really talk to yourself like that when youre alone? Especially if there's someone sneaking around? If I'm looking for it, I would have looked down, then when I realized it was gone I may have dropped the the ground and patted the floor frantically, or something along those lines.

The "what do you want?" line worked. However at this point in terms of editing, I would have done something differently. Maybe you could have had the stranger throw down the knife, cut to reaction shot of the actor with a dumbfounded look on his face, then back to the stranger, then the sandwich with the knife in it, then cut to the next scene. Or you could have done what you did in the movie, but I would have taken out the reaction shot of the main guy so that we could cut to the next scene for another punch line.

Anyways, good job!

oh cool thanks for the feedback. It is much appreciated. Yea acting...the next project we work on will have real actors. We didn't really right a script, it was just like yea now do this kind of deal. I wanted to cut that line though in post but my roommate disagreed...and he was doing the sound work so...he won. Like I meant to mention that this was just glorified cinematography practice for me and sound design pratice for my roommate. To his defense that was the first time my roommate and me for that matter acted in anything before. Anyways thanks so much for the feedback. The next project will have real actors, locations, more crew members, a script and ....gasp....a shot list.
