Another DVX Music Video

Just thought I'd post the latest video I've shot. It's for a group called Dynasty Electric Duo, it was written and directed by a good friend of mine, Joshua Katcher. I handled the cinematography, it's our second music video working together. All shot with a DVX. Edited on FCP

AWESOME!!!!!!! Very 80's look but crisp and not like video. My favorite videos are from the 80's and I think that this video is a perfect example of bringing back that look but in a very cool way. I love the colors and the fact that it is not your average music video with the band playing going, "Look at Me". We need to see more of your work! Awesome man, just Awesome!

Absolutely incredible... How long did that take to shoot? and what kind of equip. did you have in terms of lights and such.

i recently bought quicktime 7 pro for windows...but vegas 5 still won't render movies in the h.264 codec...i'm stuck, need help....anybody?

I was seeing more late 60s than 80s in this one. Felt like a drug movie. Well done and I think the music went with the video very well. Nice work

Man I forgot I posted this. We shot the entire thing in 2 days. About 8 hours one day and 4 the next. We had 2 DVX's, a jib, dolly w/track and for lights we had an Arri kit. 3 650w fresnels and 1000w softlight.

I just got my HVX, ramping up for more videos staring in a couple weeks. HD baby yeah!

That was really awesome, I liked how you used your colors alot. The lighting was incredible in my oppinion.

Could you share any of your knowledge on lighting and how you got these looks? Would be very appreciated

cool and creative. i keept thinking of Rainer Werner Fassbinder and some of the lighting styles he used. have you seen his films?

Blow me down ...
Now that's what I call having fun lighting and shooting a music video, man! Very cool ... so many different configurations and types/motions/colors of light. You are an artist!

It looked like you had a million different gelled and focused projectors going at once. Its cool how the light adds so much action all by itself.

The fire escape shot was great too, good silhouette, outline, design. It looked like you were craning on that, do you have a crane?

Totally enjoyed that.

I commend you on your hard work, you created a great video. the change of color was totally awesome!

what part in upstate are you? I evacuated for hurricane Katrina to Kingston/Woodstock.
