another 24p question ..

OK so I know 24pa and 24p get turned back into 60i as soon as they go into any North American Television thats NTSC. I thought I remembered reading that there was an adapter for your DVD player to play 24p or exactly what ever you recorded onto your DVD to your TV. I know its an easier film transfer when recorded in 24p but is that the only advantage of 24p. Also when you record in 24pa or "p" even though its gets changed back to 60i does it look any better (in your opinion) than if it was recorded in 60i to begin with.

I think the same argument surrounding HD is similar to the 24p where they both aren't NTSC compatible ...please correct me if I'm wrong. Just trying to get a better understanding. THANK YOU!

24P, as recorded on the DVX, looks like film that's been transferred to video.

Film is shot at 24fps, and gets transferred to 60i video, and still retains the film motion look. That's what 24P on the DVX does, in exactly the same way.

There are many, many benefits to shooting 24P on the DVX, and transferring to film is probably the least of them.

Thank you for the quick response. I should of thought of it like that..makes perfect sense. By the way the book and dvd are great !
