Annoying auto iris issue with the AF100

Why would you shoot in movie mode for a timelapse on a 7D or 60D? I always just use an intervalometer and just do photos that I convert to a video. With movie mode, you are limited by the record length and you can't take advantage of the full resolution of the sensor. No thanks.

The OP's question was about using the AF100, a video camera that has built-in interval recording capability, and the probem with using auto exposure without getting distinct changes in light levels. I haven't personally used 7D or 60D to shot a timelapse, and I don't own an intervalometer. I only mentioned those cameras' capabilities in relation to the general discussion about achieving stepless iris control.
