Hey I'm looking for some suggestions as to what to do here in this current situation of mine.
So a little while ago I got the red X and the whole dirty tape thing and did a little research on my options from there. I decided that since i really needed the camera in working condition fast, to just go ahead and pay for it to be cleaned. So I brought it to a local electronics repair store and paid about $100 to get the heads cleaned. Impressively they got it done by the next day, and I didnt get to use it till today when I started filming for a music video I'm directing. I almost screamed when within the first 2 or 3 minutes the red x returned. Luckily the footage I shot today looks like its salvageable although my dvx cant play any of it back. Tomorrow morning I'm going to call the electronic store to see what they can do for me, but the bad part is that I really NEED to have my camera thurs morning because I had planned on shooting my scifi short then(everything is/was set up).
Anyways today I bought a cleaning tape as a possible backup today. What do you think my best chance is of getting my cam working by thurs. Do you think there is any chance that the electronics store will actually fix the problem for me or will they just say "screw you give us $100 more and we'll do it"
