While waiting for my Rouge 30-80 to come it, I have been using this wonderful little lens on my EF mount cine cameras, with smooth iris on lens control (iris declicked by Duclos).

Great lens for the price.

This lens is not perfect, it ramps and it flares easily (as the red 17-50 does). To me the great thing about this lens is that you have clickless iris control, and the zoom, focus, and iris are all the correct direction for cinema. no other lens at this price point is.

i'm getting both the 16-42 and 30-80. it was a really hard decision to make, because my order for the fujinon alura 18-80 came in now, and the rouges are still a month away, and cost more. but i do a lot of handheld work, and even though it can be done for short periods of time, the 18-80 is not meant for that. but what hurts the most is that i had one of the first 30-80 rouges 3 years ago, when i had a red one, but when i sold the camera i also sold the rouge, before people knew how good it was, so i took a little hit (not a big one, but i lost some). an here i am years later waiting months to buy one again.

i have used the 35-70 for some sit down interviews, but i never kept the footage. and i haven't used it lately, since i bought the c300 i just use canon zooms. so i packed the lens to be ready to ship. i don't know that i can easily get you some sample footage. aii i can say is that it's nice, not ultra sharp, but nice. if you want ultra sharp you need the rouge. this lens is from the 60s or 70s i think. still, it is practical to use, especially for me because of all the moving parts go in the cinema direction, it does it's job, and it's cheap, really cheap (by comparison).
