And the Die Hard titles get goofier and goofier.

I find 'Die Hard' bluntly descriptive, considering the action. YMMV.

In a way, but you get my point. The Towering Inferno, I don't need any more info to know what that's about. Die Hard? Could be an action film, could be a porno, could be about a car battery.

I guess what's weird about the title Die Hard to me is that it seems random. It doesn't seem like a title you'd think of while considering what the movie is about. You can slap it on any hundred other action thrillers and have it make just as much sense.

Die hard titles had nothing to do with all movies and things that happened in them, it always felt like random title IMO*

OMG! I love it! I wonder how far they'll go with it. The "I Know What You Did Last Summer" titles were starting to be become hilarious. Seriously, it got to "I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer". I was hoping they'd go further with them just to see what they come up with. I was thinking they change the game with "I'll Get You for What You Did Last Summer".

They're going for a younger man; Ben Foster, Paul Dano, Aaron Paul and Paul Walker are all reading for the part apparently. The story involves McClane going to Russia to spring his son from jail and running afoul of Russian terrorists. As a Breaking Bad fan I vote for Aaron Paul, although I have low confidence that this film will be any good.

Giancarlo Esposito (Gustavo Fring) from Breaking Bad should be the villain in the next Die Hard. Screw all this Russia stuff.

Either that of get Bryan Cranston to be the villain. Walter White versus John McClane would be fun to see.

It's catchy, it's got two one-syllable words, and people remember it.

That make it a far better title than for instance The Assassination Of Jesse James By Having Him Die Of Old Age Waiting While We Speak The Entire Title Of The Film.

Just saying.

I'm not saying it's a bad title. And I love the first Die Hard like few movies that have ever been made. I just realized it's kind of odd when you really scrutinize it.

Any word or word combination starts to sounds odd if you scrutinize it enough. Try saying "SCUBA" over and over again, a few times. Sounds weird, doesn't it?
