i shot my feature film with a dvx-100 using an anamorphic lens atachment.
i understand that it squeezes the image.
how does one de-squeeze the image for anyone to see? or to finalize the film ready for screenings.

thank you.

if displaying it on a 4:3 television I think it will stay squeezed. Only if you play on a 16:9 display will it unsqueeze.

You can author a 16:9 DVD that will automaticaly add black bars on a 4:3 TV, then if played on a widescreen TV, it will fill the frame.

I de-squeeze the image by changing the format in the editing program. I'm using Sony vegas, after downloading the clips onto the hard drive change the aspect ration to 16:9. Don't know if this applies to other editing software.

ON Premiere pro you right click in the capture and select interpret footage... then slect 16:9 (1:2)

and on Avid Xpress?

and on Avid Xpress?

Anyone know what you do for this issue in Avid Xpress? I have shot some footage in squeeze mode as well...and when I capture it in Avid Xpress it appears "squeezed" in the viewer. Just wondering if I need to change a setting in Avid? Or wait until I export it and burn to DVD as a 16:9 image.
