Anamorphic question?

Will there be, in the future, an anamorphic adapter that will not have the focusing/aperature issues that the current panasonic one does? The reason I ask is because I was talking to Nancy Schreiber and I asked her why she didn't use the Anamorphic adapter on "November" and she said that the benefit didn't outweigh the detriment it would be on the production's schedule in terms of the time it would take to ensure proper focus. Does anyone have any specific examples/stories about using the adapter on a feature or short?

Re: Anamorphic question?

There will be, in the future, one that does exactly what you ask. Century's upcoming adapter has a separately-focusable front element, which will allow you to focus both the horizontals and the verticals to pinpoint accuracy, at any aperture and at any zoom setting. Should give superb 16:9 results in all shooting circumstances. It won't be cheap, but the performance should live up to the price tag.

Maybe by next April.
