Hello guys,
I only recently discovered that in MPEG mode one can go to as low as 1/2 shutter speed. This would allow me to create some sort of time lapse without wearing the shutter on my lens. I shoot an average of 2-3K shots for a time lapse (bought a timer for that)... assuming the lens was built to last 50K~100K shots, that will burn the lens quickly (does anyone know how long those lens are supposed to last? Tried looking through specs but in doesn't mention it anywhere).
Unfortunately, my gh1 does a "crash-and-burn" every time I try it with the anamorphic settings described here
http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?225252-Anamorphic-Cinemascope-in-Native-1920x810-MJPEG-Mode
I guess the increased bitrate doesn't play well with the slow shutter speed, however I was wondering if anyone has tested and found stable MPEG settings where the slow shutter speed works.
Thanks
