Anamorphic Lense Adapter - AG-LA7200G

Hey,
So, I need some help on finding/judging if the anamorphic lens adapter would be worth the cost. First off, after seeing the new star trek...I can honestly say that I love horizontal lens flairs. It is my understanding that this is due to the use of an anamorphic lens. First question: Would this adapter give the same effect as far as light distortion? Also, does anyone know where I can find a well priced used adapter? The lowest I've seen is 600 and that would be pushing it for me...any suggestions?

I also need to know about the same :-@. By the way this lens has some reputation in shooting some great flares falling directly onto the lens. It is also 1.33:1 anamorphic as compared to CinePrime 2:1 anamorphic, but this is the only one we have for stock DVX100, also crazily expensive rogar-Smoke(DBG):, but still I love to have it.

If you really want to shoot some good footage maybe a 35mm Adapter would do. Again I can't say about your requirements.

Today I saw the weirdest thing. Canon also seems to have one in production as well http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...RC_72_Aspect_Ratio_Converter.html#accessories. It's for the XL2 which shoots native 16:9 I think so I don't know why it would need it. And the adaptor has 72mm threads making it a perfect candidate to mount on a DVX. The Canon one is also several hundred dollars cheaper . If anyone has one or can find a review that'd be great!

Im pretty sure i remember seeing something on the forum years ago about how the canon wont work with the dvx. I could be wrong though.
