Question 1 : Does the Müller anamorphic lens need to be focused at the same time as the lens between it and the camera? If so, that sounds hard. Sorry for my ignorance.

Question 2: Does this work with *any* lens, as long as the step up/down rings work? For example, could I use it on the Panasonic 20mm F1.7 lens for m43 sensors. I feel kinda stupid asking this, as it seems an obvious yes.

BTW, I'm pleased with the edge sharpness of your sample shots (just a bit blurry, but really acceptable imo).

Yes you must focus both of them ,its not easy to rack focus(if possible at all), i think that there is no anamorphic which would work with your 20mm lens, its too wide, you would probaly have blurred corners even with la-7200 .ISCO's are used mostly with 50mm lenses on canons ,im sure they would work with 35mm lenses on gh-1 since theyre x1.5 stretch.
With 20mm and x2 anamorphic you would have 10mm lens, ive never seen anything like this ,i think its not possible it would be very very curved and distorted ,kinda like fisheye.
This Müller works with 50mm on Canon 550D ,maybe it would work with 35mm on gh-1 but i am not 100% sure.

By "not working with 20mm lens" i mean you would have black corners and just hole in the middle with small picture.
You can check how Müller footage looks like in this short:
