Anamorphic Lens and 35mm adapter

I've been in preproduction for a few months now, and I'm starting to look at lens options for my Andromeda. This sounds crazy, but I'm willing to try it out. I want to combine an anamorphic lens with a 35mm adapter

Has anyone tried this? I do realize there are focusing issues with the DVX anamorphic lens, but at any rate, has anyone even tried doing this? I have two contacts in my area, each with the missing pieces, so I might be able to try it out sometime this month.

Hey Chris, I've always heard it's not possible. Not sure why though. Maybe you could find a 16:9 anamorphic lens for the lenses you intend to use instead of the Panasonic one. I've actually always wanted an Andromeda system, and to combine a 35mm adapter with the anamorphic -- guess you beat me to the punch! I'd love to see the results if you can pull it off -- it's the best quality you can pull from the Andromeda while still having shallow DOF. What lenses and DOF adapter do you intend to use? I recommend Nikkor glass.

Well, I'm really looking for an SGpro Rev 2 or 3 with Nikon mount. I've used the M2, and I've never been terribly happy with the lack of sharpness on the edges of the frame. I have a few Nikon primes laying around as well. I think its not considered possible because of the achromat lens needed for many adapters, but then again, if you have a longer rig than usual, it might not be an issue anymore. Interesting point about the anamorphic lenses, haven't thought of that. I wonder if it would work right on an adapter.
