Anamorphic and letter box

I recently became drunk and discovered that when using the Panasonic Anamorphic lens, you can go into letterbox and get a cinemascope look...?
It just makes you feel like you have less of a tv....but it gets you sizzle for yor gizzzle- Redneck Video

Some what off topic but ive heard the ana lens is really hard to focus but the 100b fixed that. my question is it worth buying for for the dvc80 or does that focus trouble not worth it?
