There was a thread about aligning the coverter but I can seem to find it. Can anyone tell me how do I make sure the converter is sitting properly on the lens, and how do I know is properly aligned with the chip? thanks
Take a look at the adapter's lens cap -- you'll see that it's translucent white plastic, with a rectangle grooved onto it.
Put the lens cap on, zoom out to full wide-angle, and point the camera at a bright light. Focus as close as you can, and you'll see the rectangle on the lens cap shows up as a nice black rectangle in your viewfinder. Square up that rectangle, tighten the anamorphic adapter's screw, and you're ready to go!
Thanks Barry. I did what you said, it seems like is the only way to do it. One would think that there should be a more precise adjustment...and the lack of instructions in the manual does not help either...anyway, thanks again.
question, anybody - is the rectangle appears to be equally in the middle?
i once shot with the anamorphic and the rectangle was shifted a bit to the right (i think). it was straight, but not exactly in the middle.
how is it in your cameras?
I just got the Ana adapter.
The screw never caught the body and seems already stripped!
The adapter is very loose, and now I can't even get it off.
The original lens protector connects so easy!
1) Has this happened to anyone here before
2) How do I get this off now???
