Analog cards/breakout boxes options?

I am trying to find out if there are any options for importing a signal from say a BetaSP deck into an Avid Xpress Pro system (PC preferred but Mac would be OK as well). I am aware of Mojo, are there any other alternatives. I have researched AJA and Blackmagic so far and they don't mention any Avid support on their sites.

To summarize, I need to be able to import Analog SD signal plus timecode into an Avid Xpress Pro system. DV resolution is OK. I guess I could convert the analog signal using a DV deck in a pass through mode, however that doesn't solve the timecode issue.

Any help is greatly appreciated

What about Timecode in and out of analog source, as well as analog deck control? Does Mojo support that? And if not, are there any other options for getting the timecode into the Avid Xpress Pro from an analog deck (Beta SP)?

Thanks,

Vlad

If you're on a PC, you need a "Rosetta Stone" RS232-to-RS422 converter. It connects to your computers COM port and lets you control any deck with a 422 port.

If you're on a Mac, there's a product made by Keyspan, which is a USB-to-RS422 converter, and lets you do the same thing.

We've got one of each, and they work great for deck control and TC ingest. Also lets you control the deck for digital cut, if you're so inclined.
