Analog capture to P2?

Just a quick query....(as I await my ordered HVX)

Is it possible to do analog capture to the P2 cards via the connections on the HVX? (Or even Mini DV)

ie. Can I plug in an old VCR...and thus convert to a digital format on the P2 card?

Or can the camera at least act as a bridge between analog source > Camera > Firewire > PC?

You can use the HVX to digitize a standard-definition composite or S-Video signal and output it through the IEEE 1394 port, but you can't record it to the P2 card. The procedure is described on page 89 of the manual.
