DOC: America's greatest unknown musician is ready for his closeup

I can see a lot of work has been put into this. Congrats.
Some things I didn´t like that much:
The interviews are lit very harsh and the framing is odd. Shooting an interview is similar to taking a still portrait, make the people look the best they can.
The light just hits the first woman full frontal, casting nasty shadows, the second woman is being criss-crossed by two very similar lights, no nice ratios, no fall off.
Interviewees are framed to the same side the look out of the frame, leaving a lot of empty space on the other side, which doesn´t add any info to the image.

One other thing: Maybe selling it a little less, would be good in the end.
I enjoyed the songs I heard in the film, not sure if this makes him "America's greatest unknown musician" all at once...
All the best for finishing your movie!

I'm a bit confused. First I thought you meant he was a new artiste, then I noticed the birth and death day - so I presume he passed on before anyone had heard his music, and he wasn't famous at all? I Googleed his name and got nothing - and I'm sad to report that I hated the music, and found it lacking in all the things I like in music. So by 1.39 I'd decided the music wasn't very good, so I didn't really want to hear much more. The video seemed fine from a technical point of view, although some of the interviews seemed very symmetrical and 'pyramid' framed - with the head the highest point with angles going up to the peak from the sides.

So - I liked the format, but not the subject matter. This doesn't matter because fans will love it, but my query is if the music really deserves this kind of homage? To fans it's great but to people like me who have never heard of him - I kind of feel it's not justified - but I think the millions of people who like Morrisey are mad! So it's just me!

Thanks for checking it out, Paul! I guess you missed a word in the subject line: 'unknown'. That would explain your not having heard of him. Appreciate the looksee!
