Well, we say we have the right to vote, but people like Roadking were up in Canada watching our black citizens get their right to vote taken away in Florida of 2000. As a matter of fact, everyone that voted for Gore lost their right to vote that year.
What, any time you vote for the loser, you "lose your right to vote"? Absurd.

As for the "black citizens" part, that's equally absurd. That notion has been debunked numerous times.

Jarred, just wanted to let you know I didn't think THIS would happen in the thread. I just wanted to say Happy Fourth to everyone.

Re: Americans on the board...

though that kind of language can be heard on American broadcast TV after 11:00 pm
That's a lie. Why don't you go on broadcast TV and say **** and then tell us what your fine costs?

Wrong.  You're comparing apples to oranges.
Well, I don't care if they're forcing apples to serve or oranges to serve. The goverment is making people serve who's time should be up.

We're not "free to be healthy" here?

A material benefit bestowed by the government is not a "personal freedom."  It's an entitlement, and with it comes many strings (and high taxes) which we don't have here.

I'm free to choose any doctor, any hospital, and I can schedule a surgery within weeks which would take months or years in Canada.

STILL a wash.
Yeah, health in this country is a privilage for the privilaged. It's a luxury for those who have the money or work for the right company.

Come on, you know it's true: We do not have the RIGHT to be healthy in this country. Healthcare is something you have to aquire with cash money!

Any way you slice it, Al Gore won that election... and I'm not going to even explain that one to you because it has been well documented in news papers.

Cite your source: Which newspapers and which editions claimed that Al Gore legally won the election based on the laws extant at the time. Or am I picking on you by requestion you back up a spurious claim?

It's not that simplistic, but leave it up to you and Roadkill to to twist the subject to support your convoluted arguments.

The Washington Post and CNN both said around the time that any way your figure (by popular vote or by electoral) if all valid votes were counted, Al Gore won the election.

Obviously, a judge (a member of Bush's campaign) ruled Bush the new president, so legally he is, but not if you count all votes casted.

You're so quick to ask questions... just hoping we can't answer them, so you can look smart!

Oh, and I like how you slyely throw in the word "legally" when it's not even relevant or a part of my original statement.

You live in Ohio. Ohio went to Bush, and such, so did the Electors. Assuming that you voted for Gore, the result in Florida did nothing to hinder or boost your right to vote.

Period.

Buddy, I've talked to people in the service and they don't think it's right either. Just because you're gung ho doesn't mean everyone is.

Sorry, but this is neither a cite, nor the truth (Granddad wont be drinking with you either it seems).

Fessenden, Ford, and John Broder, "Study of Disputed Florida Ballots Finds Justices Did Not Cast the Deciding Vote" in the New York Times
http://www.nytimes.com/2001/11/12/politics/12VOTE.html

Recount by the New York Times finds that any legal standard of counting votes results in a Bush win.  Washington Post finds similar in their recounts.

Maybe you should check those facts first...

It's called "time/place/manner" regulations.  Restrictions are mostly in place during "family" viewing time; late-night broadcasting is not nearly so regulated.

Oh, and I've heard that kind of language on PBS during primetime.
Well, for one thing, I think the electoral vote system is a crock of **** and so do most Americans. Al Gore got the popular national vote, plus he would have won Florida if they counted all the votes... and especially if they had let the black people vote.

OK, so how did Gore illegally win the election?

(Legal is the entire issue, there is no other.)
