SHORT: Ambushed. Short film

Hi Duke,

I like it.
Why the vintage color? It looks good but does it suit the story?

Thanks for watching. On the color. I had a such a hard time doing it and I had to match the drone shots with the gh4 shot and also the various shots of exposure. I kinda messed up shooting it as we had to rush being on a time crunch so that was the best I could come up with. I would do it different in the future. I was going for a little older look.

"Sweet Jesus, Mother of God!"

I liked the concept a lot. The antagonist's justification seemed kind of shaky though. I think that you would have had a better piece without that scene and leaving it up to the audience's imagination.

Also, I didn't care for the cyan hue in the grade much. I think that instead of pushing up those cooler tones, you could have just dropped the saturation a bit globally and that might have fit the story better.

How long did this take you to shoot? It held together pretty well from a continuity standpoint. The music was good too.

We shot over 4 1/2 days. But the days were short because of the light. Lucky to get 8 hours per day for a 40 page script I would have liked at least 6 days.

As I mentioned I struggled with the coloring. Some filters worked well with some shots. It didn't with others so I tried my best to find a look that kept it all consistent looking. This was the end result. I wish I could have done better. But I did everything myself so it's hard. You live and learn. Thanks so much for watching.

+1. The color threw me off also. The footage as far as quality looks good.
