Hey guys,

Heres a music video I shot for a local band called Amber Sky Lane. I co directed with my friend and I shot and edited it.

I used a stock Hvx for all of the band footage and the Hvx with sgpro adapter for all of the story footage.

The colors are a lot more washed out on youtube.

Let me know if you want me to post a higher quality cut on my website.

Please Let me Know what you think!

Hey man, that was a good looking video. Why did you choose to use an adapter on only the story and not the band performance as well? For me it was a bit jumping in and out of aesthetics... Maybe if you chucked a vignette on the performance it would have evened it out? (just a thought...)

Also how did you play out the track on location? I noticed there wasn't any gaffer tape on the symbols which would have made it pretty hard for the band to hear the track playing out?

Really liked the look of the narrative shots.. the performance stuff looked good too. What kind of budget were you working with for this video? Has this video led to more music videos?

Thanks for the feedback!

The track was just really loud on location. (played through their PA) It didn't really matter because we were in a snowy field.

There was very little budget for the video. I own an hvx and sgpro and most everything else we got for free. The only thing we paid for was the $40 rental on a leaf blower to simulate the wind on the mountain.

Favors include a couple lowel lights and a dedicated crew of 4.

I think it was just I didn't want to shoot it with the lcd turned upside down. I thought I would have a monitor by the time i did the story portion but i ended up shooting that with the lcd as well.

We were also crunched on time for the band footage and I knew we would get more stuff if i didn't use the adapter.
