I wasn't TOO impressed...
Besides the awesome hugeness of the stage/warehouse/studio where they filmed, the cinematography itself wasn't THAT outstanding was it? They DID cover the **** outta the performance dollying and craning all over the place, but it wasn't anything I haven't seen b4.
I'm NOT trying to be a downer, i'm just ..saying. ;-)
The water scene WAS pretty cool though.

I've always said the best cinematography is that you can't notice at first. It's all about composition, framing, focus, and movement and everything is top notch on this

I thought it was captivating. Very now and political. Effects were tasteful and very effective.
Im not a big music video fan, however I watched this all the way through and found the shots to be very easy to watch and still follow the story.

I heard that before, but I don't think it applies to music videos because music videos are usually always alot of eye candy.
as for the budget, I'd guess in then 120-150k range.

Yes, definitely CG. If not, the "FOO's" might've won the fight and Grohl & the guys would've certainly bit the dust (bit the...fizz?) :crybaby: :2vrolijk_08:
Anyway, it didn't really find the art direction that inspiring really...Just them in front of a big red backdrop.
Now, if you mention video's like Tool's...written, directed and "visually effected" by their own guitarist Adam Jones...
