I like the idea of the DX sensor size. It's very close to S35 and uses smaller lenses than are required by full frame cameras.
But the D5100 does not have full manual controls while shooting video. And the D3200 footage I've seen has been undwhelming.
I realize the GH's are good video performers, but I'm not sold on the idea that m4/3 is going to be around for a long time. So I'd rather build a set of Nikon DX lenses than a set of m4/3 lenses.
I would love to have a really good DX camera from Nikon, but I just don't see one.![]()
Sony is spitting out the pro S35's in a big way next year, so why not Nikon ?
...Does Nikon make their own camera sensors?
With Nikon cameras, you don't actually "lock" the shutter speed - it's more flexible than that. In the ISO Sensitivity Settings, with Auto-ISO on, you can preset your preferred shutter speed in the Minimum Shutter Speed setting. You should also set the minimum ISO in the ISO Sensitivity settting (e.g. 100), and the max ISO in the Maximum Sensitivity setting.

I don't think that's the droid you're looking for.Does the D5100 have a 1/48th shutter speed?
