Am I doing something wrong with my settings?

I have a question regarding the settings on my HVX200a. When I am out in the field filming and looking at the footage through my monitor (Ikan HD) and the LCD screen, the picture I have set up with my settings is spot on. Now when I transfer the footage onto my laptop, it looks very dark and heavily saturated. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to calibrate the settings according to my MacBook Pro; and if so how would I set up my laptop as a monitor? I'm not sure if this is the case with all cameras or if it is simply something wrong on my end. Any ideas or info would be much appreciated, thanks.

You need to make sure your monitor is properly calibrated on set to be sure you're getting good footage. There are various tutorials out there on the Web for doing it. :)

It sounds, though, like your laptop's screen may be overly dark.

Thanks for the tip! Yeah it sounds like I really need to calibrate my monitor and my laptop display. Haha I tell ya, sometimes I just step right over the simplest solutions because I tend to jump straight into the deep end...duh :cheesy:

The LCD lies. It is much brighter and less saturated than what your footage will look like.
