alternative web portals?

[VGurcu]

What other WEB PORTALS(not just news) are out there other than yahoo? Tired of seeing royal weddings, fashion, celebs, unitelligent propaganda...

[David Jimerson]

What do you mean by "not just news"? Are you looking for something specific?

[VGurcu]

I meant not alternative news websites, which i know plenty.
Looking for ayahoo like portal just with a better content...

msn and aol are similar to yahoo. google and bing are more similar to each other.

Yes they are quite well known, i thought somebody would know a lesser known but growing portal that somehow has a powerful search engine built in with more serious approach to news & other things...Perhaps even allowing some user customized interference....

Not exactly what you're looking for, but you could always try Isara, and help support a fellow DVXuser's charity efforts via your web searching:

I just come to the cafe here. If it isn't posted, it isn't worth it.

Have you tried iGoogle (http://www.google.com/ig)? You can customize the home page very heavily by adding whatever content you like, whether it be weather, specific news sites, RSS feeds, etc. Definitely sounds like it could fit your needs.

Eximious,
Yes that is pretty close, except I cant choose where to get my news from. So I d like to customize the content of each gadget too...
But yeah it does the job nicely, thanks a lot...
