F3: Alphatron v0.6 and Pix 240 problem

I upgraded the firmware in my Alphatron EVF to v0.6 and it caused an issue when connecting from Sony PMW-F3 HD SDI A, to Alphatron EVF and out in RGB 3G mode to Sound Devices Pix 240 v3.1. The image in the Pix 240 cuts in and out. I reverted back to firmware version v0.5 and the issue ceased. I also checked my BNC cables and that wasn't the problem. Anyone else have this issue? I sent this description to the tech people at Alphatron for feedback.

This won't solve your problem, necessarily, but I would think its pretty dangerous to route your recording signal through the viewfinder in the first place. Why not just go to PIX first then into the Alphatron. Don't take any chance of corrupting your recording.

i agree. if there's a problem with the signal at the recorder, you want to see that it's interrupted downstream at the evf. but there's no benefit in putting the evf before the recorder.

Well there you go. Red faced yet again. I didn't even think of setting it up that way. Thanks for telling me the obvious. Without this forum I would've kept on wondering what I was doing wrong. Before this particular update I had however been using it this way without an issue. It does work perfectly. I've also informed Alphatron of my error.
