F3: ALPHATRON EVF Firmware Update - Waveform and Vectorscope added

Why does Small HD not have a waveform yet? Come on guys!
That was one of the main reasons why I sold DP6. I contacted them about a year ago regarding waveform and they responded that they are working on the firmware upgrade which never happened. I don't think it would happen at all honestly. It looks like they only integrated waveform and vectorscope in their top DP7Pro model which is a very good monitor.

Or you could just get the Cineroid EVF 4RVW with retina screen, dual waveform, vector scope, direct access 1:1, audio monitoring and so on and so on..... Cineroid is making good stuff. Apparently it just takes a while for people to get this.

I think it's just a matter of preferences. Alphatron works for me very well and I might not like Cinedroid, and vice versa, Cinedroid might be the best option for one person but not Alphatron.

I have the Cineroid Retina EVF and while it is excellent, I have a large burn in the LCD screen from just a few seconds exposure to the sun. Everyone I know who has an Alphatron or Cineroid has had this happen. it's hardly ever mentioned on forums, and yet, once it's happened, it makes your EVF virtually unsaleable.

I have a habit of closing the EVF "iris" when not looking into it.
Same thing here, but powervideo is right! It's a common issue but its not just Alphatron or Cinedroid specific. It applies almost to all electronic viewfinders with magnification loupe. It's just something shooters should be careful with.

Thought this was pretty common knowledge..... never ever leave your loupe open when not using it. You know how a magnifying glass works with ants. Your loupe is a magnifying glass......

Cineroid even included a nice yellow sticker which tells you to be careful.

So no, I havent experienced any burn ins with my Cineroid EVF 4RVW
