hi all,

i just got the mark iii and been doing a little testing.

i read that, typically, one can shoot about 45 mins on a 32 gb card, at 1080/24fps all-i.

but, i've been able to put almost 2 hours (1 hour 45 mins) on a 32 gb card....which makes
me suspicious.

am i doing something wrong in settings?

thanks for any ideas.

On a 32 GB card, 45 min means 95 Mbps (which sounds about right for All-I), 1:45 means 40 Mbps (which you might get if you shoot something simple (lens cap on, whole image out of focus, etc).

aha...got it. that makes sense. i had camera on table, shooting in one position the whole time.

thanks samuel.

being all-I, bitrate doesn't depend on motion (it doesn't matter if each frame is the same as the previous one, it gets recorded in full), but if it was a simple image being recorded (without lots of small detail), that could explain the low bitrate.
