Is it me, or has the posting really dropped off for this fest. I personally don't like westerns very much, but I'm just as excited to shoot one as any other movie. I mean we get to play with wardrobe, horses, guns, good, bad and ugly. I'm also super excited to see what people come up with. Well here's hoping for a great turnout!
 
I ask the mods about a film if it would be ok. But they haven't sent a reply. Yes it seems slow. But still kind of early.

It's dead in the film threads area though. I've never seen it so slow.

Small fest or large, it's still a ton of fun. There's over two months to go - I'm trying to encourage a few other local filmmakers to join up.

Just began excavating dvxuser.com today (first post!), there be lots 'o gold here, spent much of the day checking out the fests submissions. Great concept, would love to submit a few fests down the line, but for now, I want to get to 50 posts before voting for WestFest begins!

I've only looked at Quest and Betrayal fests, and on first blush, West does seem more restrictive and specific than those two... Altho I'm sure there'll be a bunch that subvert the genre.

Oh -- how did I get here?? Got an HV30, was lookin for this tight slo mo test on youtube that I saw few weeks ago, found it (solomon chase), researched him (how can someone be so young and yet so mature in their talent?? boooo), found "NightLight", which led me to QuestFest, and.... hours later, here I am!
 
i haven't participated in one of these fests since ZombieFest. How many films have competed in the subsequent ones? Seems like there's 25-30 in this one. Is that not a lot? seems like a good amount to choose from.
 
western can be tough, but i think there are ways to make it work on the cheap. you don't have to have horses and six-shooters to be a western.

we went pretty traditional, but there's plenty of angles to take. i'm looking forward to seeing what people come up with.
