Re: Allow Myself To Introduce .......Myself
When I was in High School, Director Peter Weir and his location scout was driving around and stopped at our Drumline practice. We used to practice outside all the time. Long story short, he liked what he saw and we got a part in the movie "Dead Poet's Society" starring Robin Williams. I am easy to spot because I am the only black guy in the whole movie! LOL! I am playing the drums in the pep rally scene. Anyway it was then that I got to see how a movie is made and all the tricks they used with lights and how they used fake snow, etc. We spent about a week on the set. I was in a few other scenes that ended up hitting the cutting room floor. However, I was so intrigued with my experience that I ended up studying Theater in College and minored in TV Production. I have worked on several big budget movie sets as an Actor or Crew and a couple of TV shows. So I have experience in front as well as behind the camera. Sixteen years later and I am just as enthused about making films, Music Videos and other projects as I was back in 1988. I currently shoot for ABC in Philly.
My only regret is that I kinda wished I went to Film School but its all good. I learned A LOT of stuff working in Television the last 10 years and like I said I have worked on a variety of sets and I have no problem in networking with other film professionals! LOL!
