So I just bought a new DVX-100 and the camera is great, but the camera manual doesn't really do a good job in telling me exactly what all the buttons do. Maybe I'm supposed to know if I'm buying a camera like this but I'm learning as I go. is there someplace to read about all these different features and how or when to use when applicable? I'm familiar with when to shoot in a particular frame mode but theres other settings I have no idea about.
Also, I purchased an audio technica shotgun mic and I'm not happy with the external mic clip that came with the camera. It's plastic and doesn't feel very sturdy. Plus, the microphone wiggles around when I'm holding the camera and I;m worried that noise will be picked up. Are there other mic mounts available? It seems as though if someone accidentally knocked it the mount would split and thew mic would fall the to the ground.
