All straight lines in clip are Jagged & Crooked

When I capture my clips, ALL straight lines appear jagged and crooked. From the edges of tables to car grills to power lines. Especially power lines. I shot a lot of clips in a location with a lot of power lines and it just looks really ugly. Even car grills (that has straight lines on it) look bad too.

Objects that have label with text on it also look jagged.

Anybody ever encountered this?


I edit with Avid Xpress Pro. On the Panasonic dvx100b it looks ok on the viewfinder but once in Avid it looks really horrible. any help?

What mode are you shooting in? progressive or interlaced? are your capture settings correct? have you watched this on an external monitor? is it still there?

I would also suggest looking at your detail level settings.

Meaning, use THICK detail, not THIN or MID.
