All Hallows Fest

Perhaps this is a silly question, but can you give me an example of how to word an acknowledgement to dvxuser.com in my credits???

:) No prizes announced. There will probably be a prize or two of some sort, but not announced until the contest deadline. The intention is to take the focus off of the prizes as this is really more of a festival than a competition...

Entry

Entry

Hey Guys.

If I can find some time I think I will shoot a short for this just for fun.

Look Forward to it.

We'll announce the prizes closer to the entry date. We usually have some pretty decent gear for you guys. But Jared's right, the prizes aren't the main focus--because you never know when we might run dry and have to give out Cadbury Eggs to the winners.

Cadbury eggs? Ugh. Why don't you throw in some black licorice, dark chocolate and a Shamrock shake while you're at it.:zombie_smiley:

As long as they are caramel i'd be happy.

True That!

I'm just going to have fun with this one.
I'm pretty busy with paying video work, but I really want to put something together just for fun. And since I have never entered any DVXUSER contests this will be my first!

When and How do I submit the video? Email? Link? DVD? Post?

Great--welcome to the fest. We'll have our upload instructions posted closer to the deadline. It's a very easy system that allows uploading of the user films.

I'd like to try and enter this.

Trying to figure out the rules. Does it have to be "darkness" with a Halloween theme or just "darkness" (like, a "dark" 4th of July theme would be OK?)

As this is the first contest I am entering I'd need some help on how to export the movie (format). I use Premiere but I never bought extra codecs. I would like to know if I need to purchase one so I won't have a last day panic attack.

George: That would be ok. Darkness as the theme is the requirement. Taking place on Halloween is encouraged, but not required.

Kirk: I would search around in the premiere section. There are a couple of good tutorials that I have come across in there that folks seem to like. I don't use Premiere so I can't help you. But, there are some smart folks who do. You are smart to try to start figuring it out now if you haven't dealt with it before :)

Anyways, I'd search around in the Premiere section like I said, and try some of the suggestions you find. If you still have questions, feel free to post up in one of the threads about it.

Take care, and good luck to you guys.

Later,
Jason
