I think this video could have been alot better. Especially with eqiptment you have, i don't want to sound harsh but this looks very amature. Good idea though...

We had 7 hours to shoot it and it supposed to look amateurish. Like a youtube video.

Is this a story telling concept that they wanted? I don't get it. When I talk to record labels, they just want treatments and storyboards if I'm called for a video. Even when I'm up against other directors.

So, is that what your doing but with a video?

Actually they asked us to shoot a fake "fan created video" that would support the launch of the new single indirectly on YouTube.
So it's not a "real" music video, since we also weren't shooting with the band.

The problem that I had with the 'shoot like an amature', is that the edits are too 'good' for what seems to be the typical youtube fare. There's the shaky cam, jump cuts, but it still seems to 'good'... also, I don't know about a 'fan' film that could get that many people on Hollywood Blvd to do the crowd sequences... and did the cop write you up for shooting without a permit??? or did you get a permit... or, parish the thought, shoot without a permit, and the cop ignored that lack because your leading lady had her blause unbuttoned to her navel... hey, and she was too attractive to be on a youtube clip anyway... although there was the 'upskirt' shot at about 2:21... my reprobate mind tends to zero in on such things...

I know champ!!!! what I was saying is, did you shoot it for the concept? You don't need a band or expensive equipment to shoot a concept! period! I never said anything like:

"Hey, is that their official music video that you've shot?"
"Is that a real music video?"

I know it wasn't real. I can tell that by watching 5 seconds of it.

Cheers,

Murray

This was not to present a concept.
That's the finished thing. Job done.
We came up with it over night and shot it the next day.

And no. We didn't have any permits. If there are only three people in your crew you don't really need one.
We were thrown out of the mall though because it's private property.
