Hello everyone,

I am quite new to this site. It was recommended to me by a friend. He was impressed by the simple layout as well as the constructive and helpful criticism he received after posting his first short. To that end I am requesting similar feedback. I have posted the link to a film I made in Ireland this year. It is a black comedy, duration of 30 min. It is only intended for use on Youtube and I haven't brought it to any festivals. If you do have the time check it out and like I said any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I realize that this site is used right across North America so I'll be very interested to here any feedback I may get from that side of the Atlantic.

The title arriving with the train is nice, but when you cut to a closer shot of the train it's like the train "restarts". I would just remove the first shot and put the title in the 2nd shot (train arriving).
The guy stepping out is a bit far for me. But you go closer to him in the next shot, so that covers it.

The sound in the first scene is not bad. Only the other guy, the background sound is suddenly louder always... But it can pass because it's a different location.
I do hear a car waiting....

The scene with the doorbell.... I miss background sound (ambience sounds...wind, cars, birds, some people passing.......)
And the sound here is suddly less good... Mic on cam ?

How come sometimes there's sound missing ? Mostly at the beginning of a scene (or shot).

Also watch your framing...and maybe cut faster. I think it's the 'slow cutting" that makes it a bit "boaring" to me.

Yep I think the sound is an issue for sure. I will maybe take another look at those scenes you mentioned where it was inconsistent. Also thanks for the advice on the train station scene. When we filmed it we didn't have much control over the location and train itself and kinda have to live with what we ended up with. I think I will have another look at this too.
