Aliasing - 720PN

Hi.. I'm starting a new project and thinking about using 720pn mode...

I've shot a doco at 1080i and all is well.. did a short test in the studio I'll be filming in at 720pn and the horizontal and vertical lines are aliasing..

Now the test I did was convert the 720pn footage in compressor to SD DVD... settings saw the material as progressive...

I did a commercial shoot for Clorox earlier this year at 720p and had the same issues on the wide shots...

How do you guys get good results from progressive footage to SD DVD...

Cheers

Have uploaded a clip to: http://idisk.mac.com/herstik-Public

Looks fine in progressive mode (ie display on computer monitor) yet when I go to SD DVD the aliasing on all the vert and horizontal lines are almost un-viewable...

As I'll be shooting in this location I need to figure out a workflow to SD DVD where the aliaing is sorted.. My other option is justy top shoot 1080i where I know these issues do not occur...

Do you guys set up a timeline in FCP that is set to say 720x576 upper field uncompressed 10bit...

Cheers

I've been shooting 720/24pn and editing in FCP6 and outputting rough edits to SD DVDs thru Compressor for client approval and haven't noticed any real aliasing problems.. in fact, everything looks much better than a project I did last year in HDV (and the aliasing wasn't that bad on that project either).

I am setting up my timeline with the high quality ProRez for processing and selecting "None" for field dominance.. other than that it's FCP out-of-the-box...

I've played the DVDs on plasma, LCD and CRT sets, and while the effect of the progressive image is considerably different, the aliasing isn't...

Thanks will have a play with the settings... I had the same issue shooting a Clorox TVC earlier this year (Although in Australia they are know as Chux's super wipes)..

cheers
