For NY Metro area shooters. Hopefully we won't need to go to Panasonic service soon for a quick fix of an AF 100 or Panasonic peripherals, but if you do, don't count on very professional service. My experience yesterday: went to the back of their warehouse (new location), was met by a security guard, had to wait 40 minutes to turn over my sick monitor to someone from the service dept. The service guy was surprised that I wanted a receipt for my equipment (he had to walk a long way to an office to copy a very basic form I had filled out). And he and his boss with whom I spoke with by phone explained that the recent severe cutbacks have left a very small number of technicians to handle the workload and the office is in a serious state of stress. I will need to wait until next week to receive my estimate (the woman who does the faxes for this is out until then). My previous experiences with Panasonic had been much more satisfying and reassuring. And contrasts markedly with all my experiences with their big competitor (starts with an S) nearby.
