Has anyone been able to play with this unit yet? I know they're pre-ordered out
the wazooo .. Looks very intriguing.

There is some discussion about the effectiveness of them on a camera like the AF100 which only outputs at 8-bit 4:2:2. In some ways the extra bits are wasted I believe I heard and you're wasting disk space. I've been using the Nanoflash at 100 mpbs long-gop to quicktime files at great results. The grading is quite great especially in low light situations. However if you're thinking about using the Sony F3 with the KI Pro Mini - then you will probably see an improvement in grading work.

I've used it on a couple of shoots...recording both to the cf cards on the mini(prores hq) and the sd cards on the af100...I cannot tell a difference, at least in the types of things we've been shooting, but I'm assuming it would help when doing green screen? The biggest value has been to have the media in prores at the end of the day instead of having to transcode during the shoot or at end of day.

They've been delayed and delayed....

I've seen evidence over the past week or two that dealers are now getting in enough volume to advertise "real" availability. With NAB around the corner, buying a recorder would not be a prudent thing to do in my view. Even if you HAD to do a shoot now, I would rent.

I believe you are correct. A distributor said they had begun to receive inventory .. albeit slowly.

I have one that I ordered back in october, very nice unit. running transcend 64gb 400x without problems. One thing to look out for is setting it up right
with the right settings, has a renter that did not read the instructions.
