AJ-HVF27BG 2" EVF on HPX500?

Not sure if the connection is the same, but you won't get a high def image out of the HPX thru that plug. I'm not sure if the HVF27 will even display a standard def signal. I put the VF20 on mine. It's a 2" 16x9 finder and it's a huge improvement over the stock VF.
 
One note about using the VF20. It will display the signal that the older VF used as a 4x3 raster inside it's 16x9 CRT. So you will have black bars on the sides, and then a letterbox image with black bars on the top and bottom with the info displayed in those bars as it normally would. You need to go in the menu and select the VF mode that is anamorphic (I think they call it squeeze or something) and then the camera image fills the VF20 16x9 CRT completely and the text and info will be supered over the active image. The tradeoff here is that the 4x3 LCD display on the side of the camera will now have tall skinny people on it since it got rid of the letterbox mode. Not a big deal, I'll take the bigger image in the VF. We really only look at the LCD for checking levels and other info.

Thats kind of a bummer. I guess I will just have to buy the varicam...NOT!

I will take a RED intead... Anyone want to sell me their extra RED camera? I will buy the body for 30k.:grin:
