I'm doing a national campaign and thinking about renting the 2100 for the shoot and leave the 202 as a back up...

I've got 3 x 8 gig cards and have shot about 400 cards out so pretty comfortable with P2 work flow...

Has anybody used the camera.. I'm doing an interior shoot in a kitchen setup..

Probably going to pump a 2.5KW & 4KW HMI PARS through windows for that sunny happy feel...

Comments about camera setup etc... also it's probably going to be broadcast in standard def.. but I'll shoot in 1080i or 1080p...

Cheers

I spent a couple hours last week demoing the 2000 (the European version is 2100E I believe) and the 500, comparing it to my 200. The 500 was substantially better than the 200 especially in low light, but the 500 had a very similar prosumer feel to it, similar to the 200. The 2000 on the other hand was much more like the varicam. I sometimes shoot with the Varicam and I can see why Varicam owners are afraid of this cam taking work away. It is VERY VERY nice, and a VAST improvement from the 200. The image is so much better - sharper, better saturation, way better light sensitivity, and of course you can use a variety of lenses.
Basic menu functions are so similar that if you are fluent with the 200 you can get them down in no time. Of course having Varicam menu experience didnt hurt.

Oh by the way, the 2000 does NOT have to pixelshift like the 200 and the 500. It actually has the 2/3 full HD pixel count.

Thanks... I'm trying to track one down for a shoot on the 18th July... rental houses are just getting them in Australia...

Been bogged down playing producer the last few days.. now looking back at the creative...

I really think it sounds like it would be the go for the shoot.. want to try and give the client a good look... I'm not going to shoot this one.. I'll direct it and sort out the P2 stuff on the day... hoping to be able to pretty much cut the better takes as we go...

Budget is starting to wear thin... and I'm still a little undecided ... would you go for the 2100 with ENG glass or the 500 with Cine Glass... if it came down to that...

Cheers
