Aged Music Video (preview)

Took, some old footage that i recorded of my band before i bought my lovely DVX a couple of weeks ago, and i edited my first video over 55seconds! Go me! ...sorry i am very new to this. Didnt want to bore you all, so as a preview i have just scrambled some scenes together from the final edited video... please keep in mind that it is not in time to the music because its not the actual video.
this is officially only the second thing ive edited...EVA! so have fun ripping me to pieces!

I liked it! Can you go into detail about the processes you did? Looked like some extensive post-editing
 
it was, alot was improv, and testing.... so it's a little vague but here what i know:
made the footage b/w so i could play with the curves effectively. got a really hard level for the whites and black. There is plent grain in there too. Added a very thick mustard colour to the black and white footage. and adjusted the levels from there again. Also added a duplicate layer of the footage with a blur and used a soft light overlay... has the same effect as an anti-alias really... just a lot more subtle.
then added in some aged film effects in ae, i pumped the 'hair folicles' and 'dust particles' took out most of scratches too... couple of camera shakes every now and then depending on the music..

ah.... yeah improv i guess

well you went for a certain look, and carried it throughout the video. I enjoyed it and look forward to more in the future
