AG-SFU100 Software Update

BLAH.

Firmware installed just fine... camera didn't explode or have all the menus changed to Mongolian or otherwise devolve to any non-working state...

...but to activate the real meat & potatoes of this upgrade, you have to buy a 25-letter keycode from a reseller... and I'm only finding it available for pre-order, available June 30!

What the hey?

btw , 1 question about soft update - i did not install the the soft version 1.16, but i installed the 1.17, i wonder if my 1.17 does in include everything that was in 1.16?

back to NEW payed update.... if someone got lucky with that new payed update? plz let us know the procedure, kind of tricky...., and i dont see where to pay for it?

So I updated to 1.23 from 1.15, and it works fine. Just waiting for this update to release tomorrow I guess, wondering if I really need to spend the $250 right now... bet my wife doesn't think so!

As I understand it, updating the firmware to 1.23 makes your camera eligible to accept the AG-SFU100 software update. Version 1.23 doesn't install that update. But for anyone who may be considering getting the SFU100, they will need to have updated to at least version 1.23. And 1.23 is available now for download.

So is there anything benefical in 1.23 if I already have 1.17 and don't need AG-SFU100?i

"I will be into it at that price."

So did anyone here get the upgrade and do you see any visible improvement in footage quality between the 28mbps/60p vs say 24mbps/24 or 25p? Trying to figure out if I shot at 1080/60p, and wanted a real time edit sequence, I guess it would be a 60fps timeline in FCP? Would it be slo-mo and sound slo-mo in a 24fps sequence?
